We worked with Health Education England, now NHS England’s Workforce, Training and Education directorate to review the perinatal mental health competency framework. The review focused on:
- Restructuring the tiers of the competency framework model against different levels of professional and clinical competence
- Reviewing the language of the competency framework from equalities, diversity and inclusion perspective
- Designing a peer review process for updating the content of competencies on a regular basis to ensure the competencies were up to date considering changes in policy and services in the perinatal mental health field
