Improving system capability of new roles development

We were commissioned to develop an evidence-based Good Practice Guide in Developing New Workforce Roles in 2018.

This guide was aimed to support workforce planners/leads, senior managers, service managers, strategic workforce leads and Human Resources/Organisational Development leads in designing new roles that are rewarding, sustainable and affordable in the local context.

This year we focused on promoting and raising awareness of the Good Practice Guide in Developing New Workforce Roles.

Workforce is crucial to the success of the NHS Long term plan and People Plan ambitions and new roles is one of the enablers of the workforce. New roles enable more workforce flexibility and capability both at the local and national levels. Our project on new roles is therefore directly linked to both plans’ ambitions.
